Residents of North County and San Clemente can show their support and appreciation for the Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton posting jobs for them to do around your home, yard or office on the free community Web site, www.HireMarines.com.

Despite the sacrifices these Marines are making, many are also under heavy financial stress. They already have a full-time job; but, there are always Marines available for a few hours to help daily chores or to finally take care of that special repair or odd job. Having a place to find immediate work and income can sometimes be a lifesaver for these Marines and their spouses.

The www.HireMarines.com Web site is totally free for everybody. It was started by small business owners Mark and Tori Baird. They own a carpet cleaning business and kept getting calls from Marines or their spouses, asking if they could help out and earn some quick cash. It hurt for them to turn any of them away. So they created a free job posting and search site for the community. They also joined the Oceanside and Carlsbad Chambers of Commerce, who both have Military Affairs committees who work with the general staff at Camp Pendleton. But they need your help too.
